Growing up within this tradition, the art of handmade rugs became part of who I am. After immigrating to the United States, I spent the past ten years working directly in the rug industry, gaining hands-on experience, deep technical knowledge, and a clear understanding of what American customers and designers value.
Today, it is my honor to carry forward the remarkable legacy of Surena Rugs—
to protect it, strengthen it, and elevate it into its next era.

For nearly two decades, Surena Rugs has been one of Atlanta’s most trusted destinations for fine Persian, Caucasian, Turkish, and antique handmade rugs.
This legacy was built with devotion and integrity by the late Mohsen Rabbanifard, a respected figure in Atlanta’s design community whose expertise, honesty, and warm personality earned the admiration of interior designers, collectors, and homeowners across the region.
Mohsen dedicated his life to the beauty and history of handmade rugs.
Through his deep knowledge, refined taste, and genuine care for every client, he created a brand defined by trust, service, and exceptional craftsmanship. His work and vision were recognized by the design world including features in Atlanta Style & Design highlighting Surena Rugs’ commitment to authenticity, provenance, and artistry.
Following his passing, the values he established continued to guide the store.
Today, Surena Rugs enters a new chapter with the same dedication to quality, honesty, and personal connection values that remain at the heart of everything we do.
