This new Turkish Oushak rug features a spacious and airy design with an open central field. Large-scale stylized floral medallions and flowing vines in soft lavender and rose tones drift across the pale blue-gray background, creating a gentle, almost dreamlike pattern. The wide borders include repeating geometric and floral elements that frame the piece with understated elegance.
Oushak rugs have been produced in Turkey since the 15th century, known for their large motifs and light, harmonious color ways. Modern Turkish versions preserve this heritage while using contemporary softer palettes and high-quality wool to meet current tastes. This example shows careful hand-knotting with a medium pile that offers both comfort and visual lightness.
The wool construction provides good durability for living rooms, dining areas, or bedrooms with moderate traffic. Its pale tones and relaxed floral design pair well with light furniture, coastal or Scandinavian styles, and neutral interiors. The size accommodates standard seating groups comfortably, and the open pattern allows furniture to sit on top without hiding details.
