This is an antique hand knotted rug from the infamous village of Karajeh in the Heriz district of northwest Iran (Persian). It is made with wool colored with natural dyes on a cotton foundation. It has the trademark multi medallion geometric design of the Karajeh rugs. it is in great condition. Circa 1920
